Life coaching and therapy both support personal growth but differ in focus and method.
Life coaching is future-focused and action-oriented. It helps mentally healthy individuals set and achieve goals, improve performance, and create strategies for personal or professional growth. Coaches don’t diagnose or treat mental health issues and aren’t required to be licensed, though many hold certifications.
Therapy (or counseling) focuses on healing emotional pain, addressing mental health conditions, and exploring past experiences. Therapists are licensed professionals trained to diagnose and treat issues like anxiety, depression, or trauma using clinical methods such as CBT or EMDR.
Key difference:
Coaching = optimizing performance and reaching goals.
Therapy = healing and resolving emotional or psychological issues.
